I’ve got a terrific side hustle going with George Washington’s life as a businessman. I give talks to various groups discussing the GW we didn’t learn about in school. He’s interesting because there’s a lot of humbug built up around him - a good deal of which was by his own hand. Anyway, today’s his birthday, so perhaps a word about him is in order. He had a brilliant mind in surprising ways. He hated slavery, though his entire business empire was built on it, he anticipated the Civil War, the politics of extremism and the rise of Donald Trump, though not by name. Here’s proof.
