Much of the world’s taconite, low-grade iron ore used to make steel, was formed in the middle precambrian in what is now Minnesota. That’s not the least dull thing about the nation’s 32nd state. They claim to have 10,000 lakes, but the actual number’s closer to 15,000. Nobody’s sure why they’re lying about this, but I think the House of Representatives should conduct an in-depth investigation once they decide on a Speaker, which should be any minute now. The state’s name derives from a Native American word for cloudy water which is what you get when you mine a lot of taconite. Milky Way candy bars, Scotch tape, the bundt pan, roller blades and water skis were invented here. ZZZZZZzzzzz……. My favorite fun fact to know and tell about the state is its official slogan.
