The property at New Bellevue House includes majestic Lake Leesa, a serpentine body of water that is abundant with life. Exploring its depths with my winter SCUBA gear, I discovered the bloated bodies of four reputed mobsters, three shopping carts, two Osterizer 10-Speed Blenders and a 1978 Dodge Lancer. We’re over the moon with the lake because it will breed tens of millions of mosquitos eager to attack us as we quaff adult beverages on the balcony. In the evenings, the shores are alive with the sound of music, specifically hundreds of peepers - young male frogs signaling to young females they’re ready to, ah, well, you know. Their joyful, eager noise is akin to a fully-loaded cargo plane tearing down the runway on a takeoff roll. As you’d expect, this naturally brings us to Louis Armstrong.
