It’s near impossible to recount all the ways in which France is rich - and I don’t just mean food and wine. Culture, literature, history, education, technology, science, medicine and philosophy are just some things that leap to mind. They also have what Shakespeare called “the vasty fields”, often in the south, often occupied by lavender as far as the eye can see. And let’s not forget la belle langue, which is music to mine ears. But there’s one important thing they do not have and never will. They do not have book worms, not a one in the entire population of 67.7 million people. Here’s what the Gauls have instead.
