This Magic Moment
Emma Watson, 35, is a rich movie star because of her unforgettable role as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films, which largely consisted of shouting spells and scolding Ron and Harry. But since then, she’s taken to drink, owning an English distillery, opining, “Every step of our supply chain is evaluated to cut out as much carbon as possible and offset the remainder through humanitarian and ecological initiatives”. I never associate gin with humanitarian and ecological initiatives, but there’s some connection to her family’s vineyard in France, so I’m likely out of my ethanol-based depth. Ms Watson’s also a certified yoga and meditation instructor and studying for a Master’s degree at Oxford’s Lady Margaret Hall (she got an undergraduate degree from Brown), aiming for a doctorate. Her show business career continues apace and there’s a wax likeness of her in Madame Tussaud’s London. Apart from that, EW’s not got much going for her. Now she’s making news for all the wrong reasons.
