Just moments ago I learned the iconic movie Rocky franchise that made Sylvester Stallone a household name was based on a real boxer. Unlike Rocky, that boxer’s life was one unredeemed by personal and professional triumph. His career was a hot mess and over the length of it, he got 328 stitches and his nose was broken nine times, but it was his nickname that stings.
