Since the Royals are the national family, British newspapers are often hilariously direct about their goings-on and the coronation proved a target-rich environment. Prince Harry, seated in the third row, was said to be “acting the clown” and he “pulled a face” moments before the service began, but it was OK because he was obscured by Princess Anne’s “aggressively red feathered” military hat - perhaps on purpose. Thérèse Coffey, secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs turned up in red, white and blue, an outfit she seemed to have “bought from a street vendor”. Leader of the House of Commons and Lord President of the Privy Council, Penny Mordaunt, wore a dress right out of “Star Wars or the Hunger Games”. Naturally, disgraced Prince Andrew also came in for a thrashing.
