Diagnosed with autism at three-years-old, Adhara Pérez Sánchez got bullied for much of her childhood, has an IQ higher than Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking and earned her Master’s Degree in systems and industrial engineering with a specialization in math. Now 14, she’s working with the Mexican Space Agency on a variety of high-level projects and knows what kind of long-term job she wants. The University of Arizona is offering her a scholarship to study astrophysics, but Adhara may have to decline because she can’t get a visa from the US Department of State.
