Adhara Pérez Sánchez was diagnosed with autism at three-years-old, got bullied for much of her life, has an IQ higher than Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking and, next month, will earn her Master’s Degree in systems and industrial engineering with a specialization in maths. Now age 11, Adhara’s working with the Mexican Space Agency on a variety of high-level projects and knows what kind of longterm job she wants. The University of Arizona is offering her a scholarship to study astrophysics, but she may have to decline because she can’t get a visa from the US Department of State. I think the State Department is 100% right. We don’t want some brainiac Mexican coming here and taking all our astronaut jobs.
