All being well, this Thursday evening, April 27th, I’ll give a talk at the Saratoga Springs History Museum about the two occasions when the town and George Washington ran into each other. Both times, George was on the short end of the stick. The talk is historically sound, a result of months of research and writing. It’ll include a couple of stories the audience may find hugely surprising. One concerns GW’s secret real estate mission here and the other, the time Saratoga almost cost him his job a commander of the Continental Army. I’ve rehearsed the thing to a fair-thee-well and I’m conversant with the material. The Q&A won’t be a problem, but giving the talk itself may be. Here’s why.
