For those of you considering a move to Saratoga Springs, NY, there’s much to recommend the place. A rich supply of cultural venues, fine dining, the nearby Adirondack mountains, Lake George, the Track, posh shops and affordable housing. Why, if you get a wiggle on, you can snag a studio apartment in the Adelphi Hotel on Broadway for $890,000, give or take, which includes hot and cold running amenities - and who can resist amenities? Of course you can’t park your limo within a 50 mile radius, but that’s a matter for your driver, right? And, sure, there’s $300,000 fixer-upper far from downtown that’ll run you a cool $3.7 million, but you get to tell your friends you live in Saratoga and their mouths will be agape at your glamour. Still, all’s not skittles and beer. Sure, it rains Perrier here and the clouds are whiter than God’s underpants, but there are some things to be aware of before you call U-Haul.
