Pastoral Beauty
Painters in the 18th and 19th Century often presented nature in a phony-baloney romantic kind of way. Everything was shown not as it is, but as we’d like it to be. The edges were softened, the sunlight glazed, the trees were hazy. It was idyllic, comforting and completely fake. In my experience, only one place on Earth actually looks that way.
