The Oliverian 2023 Grand Tour of the Americas began precisely at 09.00 hrs today and, after many miles in the motor, we’ve now gained the Land of the Cleves in the Great State of Ohio. New Bellevue House is in the safekeeping of the formidable Mrs Janice LeClare, an old friend of Leesa’s. It was adjudged that, because of their bibulousness, Finial Padraig Horan, my trusted valet, and his termagant wife, Margaret Mary Siobhan, were insufficient guardians sans sober guidance about the place. Mrs LeClare is accompanied by her pooch, Rosco, a canine so tiny it can only be seen via electron microscope. In contrast to his size, Rosco has a roar akin to that of an alpha lion in sub-Saharan Africa and woe betide evildoers who consider intruding. His bite is worse than his bark. Tomorrow however is a big day for Leesa and me.
