In the history of 20th Century advertising, David Ogilvy stands alone. He created some of the most successful and enduring campaigns in an industry rife with successes - and he learned the dark art of behavioral engineering as a British intelligence officer during WW II. For two famous marketing efforts, he used images that would become iconic - men who epitomized sophistication and savoir faire, one for the Hathaway Shirt Company, the other for Schweppes Tonic. The models in those adverts had even more exotic personal stories than the characters they portrayed.
