Next Wednesday, famed director Ridley Scott’s in US and UK wide release with the epic Napoleon, his much-anticipated blockbuster biopic. [That’s the way real movie reviewers write and I’m hankerin’ to be one someday.]. There’s a lot of buzz around the film, mostly from the Columbia Pictures publicity department. In an effort to cheese off the Emperor wherever he is, Mr Scott filmed the entire thing in English castles, cathedrals and fields. As you may recall, M Bonaparte never made it to Old Blighty - thanks in large part to Lord Nelson, so if there is an afterlife, he’s complaining bitterly to anybody who’ll listen. Here’s a bit about Ridley you should know before plunking down $14.95 at the Cineplex.
