Apollos Rivoire, 1702 - 1754, was a Huguenot silversmith active in Boston after immigrating from France via the Isle of Guernsey. He was a craftsman of great accomplishment and his work is collected in The Boston Museum of Fine Arts, the De Young Museum and the Hood Museum of Art. He married Deborah Hitchbourn on June 19, 1729 and they had 11 children. It’s their second child, Paul, Americans remember on this day.
