January 8th is a special occasion indeed. It’s National Bubble Bath Day across the land and we have the heroic Mr Harold Schafer to thank for it. Harold’s the stone cold genius who invented the iconic Mr Bubble brand, which took the world by storm starting in 1962. We’ve come a long way since then. GQ London’s award winning style and grooming director Teo van den Broeke, an expert on the subjects of style, grooming and watches, bathes in bath foam by Frederic Malle, which will set a fine young blade back a cool £95. “It’s hands-down the best for scent,” Teo states categorically. He also uses Malle’s Portrait of a Lady foam “which smells like tuberose and Heaven”. I’m all about leaving a good scent wafting in my wake, especially if it involves tuberose. Just ask Leesa. But it’s the original purpose of the bubbles that’ll surprise you.
