The whoosh of a lorry’s air brakes heralded the arrival just now of “GodzillaCouch”, which graces one of the reception rooms at New Bellevue House. It has the molecular weight of Enceladus, Saturn’s sixth largest moon, and boasts the same dimensions as the USS Missouri. The person sitting on the right side is in a different time zone than someone on the left. My wife, Mrs Leesa Oliver, is a devotee of the Victorian, whilst I’m a Thomas Chippendale man. This is the source of open, honest and direct discussions between husband and wife, but we are feathering our nest and enriching global antique shops and furniture purveyors in the bargain. There’s yet more to come and major pieces will be described in the fullness of time. Luckily, money is no object to us, as long as I keep turning tricks at the Saratoga Amtrak Station.
