During my nearly two decades at Generous Enormous, we wage slaves were required to do good four times a year - volunteered, if you like, to paint schoolrooms, dig ditches, plant gardens and such like in aid of the downtrodden. I went to these activities kicking and screaming, feeling my time would be better spent sitting in my office pretending to work or asleep at my desk as I usually was. I’m pictured in Wales at the helm of a terrifying Victorian contraption OSHA would never allow in the United States. Here’s what happened.
