Mrs Oliver has been directing my trusted valet, Finial, in organising the dressing room for my shirts, ties, cravats and wooly jumpers at New Bellevue House. Suits, tails, tweeds, tuxedos and topcoats are on the other side, along with top hats, an Anthony Eden and several Trilbys. It is a prodigious and complex undertaking. The other day, after my entire supply of underwear went missing in the move, Mrs O asked if I’d like to wear hers for awhile. I demurred, but was grateful for the gesture.
