CEO Starbucks Howard Schultz is fully 69-years-old, but he’s never been more excited. “In over 40 years, I can’t remember a moment in time when I’ve been more excited,” he told The Guardian. And what, you ask, has this Captain of Industry in such an agitated state? Well, the answer is extra virgin olive oil, specifically in oat milk latte, Cortado - a kind of espresso diluted with buckets of milk - and in bog standard coffee. Lots of marketing lingo gets bandied about, like “texture” and how the olive oil “lingers on the palate”. Howard concedes, “There’s going to be people who say, ‘olive oil in coffee?’, but the proof is in the cup”. Gosh, Howard, take it easy. Here’s what it all means.
