Fairfield County, Connecticut, is a confounding place. It’s home some of the wealthiest towns in the world (yeah, Greenwich, I’m lookin’ at you), some of the nation’s most beautiful scenery, more BMWs per square inch than Stuttart and great unending swaths of suburban blight. I know this because I lived there for decades on five acres of verdant Earth. I learned animal husbandry and land management, two things which, to this day, I remain richly unqualified for.
