Blink comparator, eccentric, dwarf and barycenter are just some of the words used to describe the controversial planet Pluto, discovered on this date in 1930 by Clyde Tombaugh. It’s controversial because scientists can’t decide if it’s a real planet or not - except in the US state of New Mexico where Mr Tombaugh lived. In 2007, the House of Representatives there passed a resolution declaring Pluto will always be considered a planet while in New Mexican skies and that March 13, 2007 was Pluto Planet Day. All of this raises a much bigger question if you ask me.
