It’s likely the tool pictured below is an ancient device for working with leather. With it, the craftsman would put holes in a hide at measured spots so the piece could be sewed together with other bits to make a garment. This one’s of interest because of its age; it predates eyed needles by some 15,000 years. I’ve got a lot of sympathy for that prehistoric tailor because, after GE Capital, I took a retirement job selling men’s clothes at Jos A Bank in Saratoga Springs. Life’s rich tapestry was on vibrant display there - and not all of it was sweetness and light.
