Albany author William Kennedy, 93, won a Pulitzer Prize for his 1984 novel, “Ironweed”. The other day I met Sheryl, a doughty woman, who for two decades was nanny to the great man’s children. Naturally, I gave her my book. Looking at the cover, she concluded the first three letters of my nom de plume are not initials (JPV), but my actual first name. On parting, she said, “It was so nice to meet you, Jay Piv!”
